All cylinders of the brain will fire over the course of our week-long Summit Camp on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Students will explore the outdoors with hands-on activities, learn about amazing scientific principles, swim in Lake Tahoe, take incredible field-trips, make art-projects, soar through the air in our team challenges, learn to make ice-cream, have a camp-wide friendly competition … and so much more! We put the “fun” back into science, the outdoors, and leadership, all in a non-competitive environment.

Summiting a 10,000 foot mountain … fording snow-fed rivers … lying in a field of grass watching the moon and constellations rise … there is nothing more powerful or exhilarating than experiential education in the backcountry!
SNJ’s Wilderness Leadership Institute (WLI) is a unique, one-week adventure into wilderness areas around Lake Tahoe, in the Sierras, and beyond. Our expeditions are geared toward rising 9th-12th graders who are looking for more than just a routine summer offering … they’re looking for the experience of a life-time!
Sessions are currently offered most weeks in July.
